Sign and Bloom is a specialised educational service dedicated to enhancing effective communication skills using Makaton, a unique language program using speech, sign and symbols.
Our mission is to provide tailored support to individuals with diverse needs, helping them to overcome communication barriers as they bloom into confident communicators.
What is Makaton?
Makaton is a unique language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention and listening, comprehension, memory, recall and organisation of language and expression.
Meet the Tutor
Hello!
My name is Jayde!

I am a Regional Makaton Tutor based in Manchester.
​
I am passionate about communication accessibility and provide accredited Makaton Training and Workshops, Baby and Toddler Classes and more, in and around Manchester and Online.
​
I am a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator with over 15 years experience, and I am also a proud parent to my son who has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
​
I know first hand just how important communication is, and how communication barriers can often result in anger, frustration and conflict across all ages and stages.
​
I am a strong believer that behind every behaviour, there is always a reason and more often than not that reason is a communication barrier.
​
Everyone has a right to their own voice to express themselves in their own way, and my mission here at Sign and Bloom is to ensure communication is accessible to all, and no one is ever left behind.
